Green Peas Kofta / Hare Matar Ki Kofta / Motorshutir Kofta









For Koftas

Ingredients :

1. Green peas - 2 cups

2. All purpose flour / Refined flour / Maida - 1 table spoon

3. Gram masala powder - 1 tea spoon

4. Green chili paste - 1 table spoon

5. Sugar - 1/2 tea spoon

6. Salt as required

7. Besan / bengal  gram flour / chickpea flour   as required

For Gravy

1. Onion ( peeled ) - 1 ( finely chopped )

2. Garlic ( peeled ) - 6 - 7 crushed

3. Potato 1 medium ,  ( peeled  and small cubes )

4. Tomato 1 medium ( finely chopped )

5. Garam Masala powder - 1 tea spoon

6. Whole dry red chili ( de - seeds )  - 1 pieces

7. Whole kashmiri dry red chili ( de - seeds ) - 1 pieces

8. Cumin seeds powder - 1 table spoon

9. Ginger ( peeled  ) - small pieces

10 . Coriander powder - 1 table spoon

11. oil as required

12. Bay leaves - 2 pieces

13. Whole cumin seeds - 1/3 tea spoon

14. Turmeric powder as required

15. Sugar - 1/2 tea spoon ( optional )





Methods :

1. Step - 1 , Take a mixture grinder . Now add green peas , green chili  1 pieces  , water  1 table spoon  and  make  it  to a fine paste  or  smooth paste  . Keep aside .

2. Step - 2 , Now add oil in a pan heat for oil 2 - 3 minutes . Now add  green chili paste 1 table spoon , add salt to taste , sugar 1/2 tea spoon , and add gram masala  powder 1 tea spoon  and mix well . Saute for all spices 2 - 3 minutes  on medium flame . Now add grind green peas . Mix it very well .  Stir . Cooking  for all  spices  and green  peas 10 minutes . When green peas thicken  and green peas half cooked . Switch off  the flame , let  it cooled  and keep aside for 20 - 30 minutes .

3. Step - 3 , Take a saucepan , now add water . When water completely boiled , add 1 pieces (de - seeded ) whole kashmiri dry red chili and whole dry red chili ( de - seeds ) . Soak for at least 30 minutes  or  1 hours . Keep aside . After 30 minutes , take a mixture grinder . Now add whole soak kashmiri dry red chili , whole dry red chili , 1 finely chopped tomato , whole cumin seeds or powder , garlic (peeled  ) , whole coriander seeds or powder 1 table spoon  and finally add 1 table spoon water . Make  it to a smooth paste  or fine paste . Keep aside .

4. Step - 4 , Take  a bowl ,  Now add green peas  mixture , add all purpose  flour / maida / refined flour  1 table spoon mix well . Knead it . Now take 1 table spoon of the green peas mash and roll through your palms to make tight smooth ball . Make  lemon size small balls from green peas . Keep aside . Transfer to a plate .





5. Step - 5 ,  To  Make batter : take a bowl . Sift together gram flour / besan  and pinch salt  into a bowl . Gradually add water , whisk  and stir constantly to make a smooth batter . Keep aside .

6. Step - 6 , heat oil in deep fry pan on high heat for about 10 minutes . Now  lemon size  3 balls in batter  to coat . Add one after the other to hot oil . Reduce heat to medium . Fry till light golden brown colour . Remove and drain . Fry remaining balls in the same way , increasing heat after each batch . Transfer  to bowl . Keep aside .

7. Step - 7 , Take a wok . Add oil . Heat for oil  2 - 3 minutes , when oil hot .Now add potato cubes , fry till golden brown colour . Remove . Keep aside .

8. Step - 8 , Same oil , heat for 1 minutes . Add bay leaves and whole cumin seeds ( 1/3 tea spoon ) , stir for a few seconds . when crackling ,  Now add salt to taste , turmeric powder  and sugar ( optional ) , now add grind paste  or whole masala paste , (  cumin , coriander , dry red chili , kashmiri dry red chili , ginger , garlic and onion ) mix it very well . when oil separates and when nice aroma comes out  . Now add fried potato and water  mix it very well . Stir . Simmer for 10 minutes . Cook till potatoes are tender . When potatoes are tender and soften . Gravy thicken . Switch off  the flame . Now add gram masala powder,  mix   it very well .Add fried kofta balls . Mix well .  Transfer to a serving  plate .

9. Serve  Hot .
