Raw Banana Kofta / Kanchkolar Kofta







For  Koftas :

Ingredients :

1.Raw  Banana - 2

2. Salt  To  Taste

3. Sugar - 1/2  tea spoon ( optional )

4. Ginger  ( adrak )  paste - 1/2  tea spoon

5. Dry Red  Chili  powder - 1/2  tea spoon

6. Coriander ( dhania )  finely  chopped - 1 table spoon

7. Onion   paste - 1 table spoon

8. Cumin ( jeera )  powder - 1/2  tea spoon

9. Bengal  Gram  Powder ( besan ) - 2 tea spoon

10. Gram  Masala  Powder - 1/2  tea spoon

11. Coriander ( dhania ) powder - 1/2 tea spoon


For  Gravy :


1.Salt  To Taste

2.Sugar  1/2   Tea spoon

3.Turmeric  Powder - 1/2  Tea spoon

4. Kashmiri  Dry  Red Chili Powder  or Paste - 2 Table Spoon

5. Dry   Red Chili Powder Or Paste -  1 Tea Spoon

6. Cumin ( Jeera ) Powder Or Paste - 1 Table Spoon

7. Coriander ( Dhania ) Powder Or Paste -  1 Table Spoon

8. Ginger ( adrak ) Paste  - 1 Tea Spoon

9.Garlic ( Lassan )  Paste - 1  Tea Spoon

10. Onion Paste - 3 Table Spoon

11. Tomato 1 Finely Chopped

12. Gram  masala Powder - 1 Tea Spoon

13. Coriander ( dhania )  Finely Chopped - 2 Table Spoon

14. Whole Cumin  ( Jeera )  Seeds - 1/2  Tea Spoon

15. Bay Leaf ( tejpatta ) - 2 pieces





Method :

1.  Cut the  two  pieces Raw Banana  into  pieces .   Put the raw banana and  pour  water into  pressure  cooker .   Pressure  cook   for  2  whistles . Then  boil  the  raw  banana  in a  pressure  cooker . Boil  the  raw  banana   with  2  cups  of  water  for  2  whistles .

2. Once  raw  banana  is  cooled  , all  the  water  gets  completely  drain  out  and  transfer  other  bowl .

3.  Now  peel the  banana  put in a bowl  and  mash .

4.  Now  mix  mash  banana , salt  to taste , sugar 1/2 tea spoon , ginger ( adrak ) paste 1/2 tea spoon  ,  dry  red  chili  powder  1/2  tea spoon  , coriander ( dhania )  finely  chopped  1 table spoon , onion  paste  1 table spoon , cumin ( jeera ) powder 1/2 tea spoon , bengal gram  powder ( besan )  2 table spoon , gram masala powder 1/2 tea spoon  and  coriander ( dhania ) powder 1/2  tea spoon . Mash and  Mix very well and  do not  add  any water .  Take  about a  table spoonful  of the mixture  and  roll it  into a ball . Make  small balls   from  raw  banana .

5.  Heat oil in  deep  fry  pan  on  high  heat  for  about 5 minutes .Now  add Koftas  ball  one after   the  other   to  hot  oil . Now  reduce   heat  to  medium  and  fry till  dark  golden brown  . Remove  and  drain .





For  Gravy :

1. Now  add  oil  in  a pan . Heat for oil 2 minutes . Temper  the oil  now  add  whole  cumin  seeds  1/2  tea spoon , slice  cardamom 1 pieces , bay  leaf  2 pieces  fry  for  few  seconds .

2. Now  add  onion paste  3  table spoon fry  for  dark  golden color . Now  add  salt  to  taste , Sugar 1/2  tea spoon ( optional ) , turmeric  powder  1/4  tea spoon , kashmiri  dry  red  chili paste or powder  2 table spoon , dry  red  chili powder  or paste  1 tea spoon , cumin ( jeera )  powder or paste  1 table spoon , coriander ( dhania )  powder  or paste 1 table spoon , ginger ( adrak ) paste 1 tea spoon ,  garlic  ( lassan )  paste 1 tea spoon , onion paste 3 table spoon , tomato 1 finely chopped , coriander ( dhania )  finely  chopped  2 table spoon . Mix well . Saute  for  all  Spices  2 - 3 minutes . Stir occasionally . Saute  all spices for  all spices  till  oil  separates . Medium  heats . Now  add  1 1/2 cup water . Mix well . Stir . Keep Cover and  medium heat . coking  for  medium heats .

3. After  5 minutes , gravy  is  done . Switch  off  the  flame . Now Drops the  koftas  into it . Now  sprinkle  gram masala  powder 1 tea spoon .

4. Serve  hot  with  roti  , rice , paratha  or pulaio .
