Pyaz Diye Massor Dal or Bengali Style Onion Red Lentil Soup Or Dal is a Traditional Bengali recipe . It is made from onion red lentil , onion and tomato . It is a basically soup dish of lentil pulses . It is a tasty dish . This dal goes well with steam rice .

Ingredients :
1. Red Lentil Dal or Masor Dal - 200 gm
2. Onion 2 big size finely slice
3.Turmeric Powder - 1/2 Tea Spoon
4. Salt To Taste
5. Tomato 1 pieces finely chopped
6. Panch Phoron ( mixed spieces of cumin seeds , mustard seeds , fenugreek seeds , fennel seeds , and whole black nigella seeds )
7. Water as required
8. oil as required
9. 1 pieces dry red chili
Method :
1. Step - 1 , wash red lentil dal or masoor dal under running water . Soak the dal in the water for 2 hours .
2. Step - 2 Then boil the dal in a pressure cooker . Boil the dal with 2 cups of water for 4 whistles . Let it cooked for 15 minutes , till the dal is completely boiled .
3 . Step - 3 , Now add oil into a wok . Heat for oil 2 - 3 minutes . Now add panch phach phoron ( mixed spices of cumin seeds , mustard seeds , fenugreek seeds , fennel seeds and whole nigella seeds ) and add 1 pieces whole dry red chili fry for 1 minutes .
4. Step - 4 , Now add finely slice onion and finely chopped tomato , fry for 2 minutes . Then add salt to taste and turmeric powder 1/2 tea spoon mixed very well and stir . Then add boiled red lentil dal or moosor dal and add 4 cups of water or enough water into the wok and mix it very well . Cooking for 10 minutes and on medium flame .
5. After 10 minutes , when dal is starts to thicken . Then switch off the flame .Serve hot with steam Rice .
