Kathal ( Jack Fruit ) Kofta Curry ( Vegetables Recipe )

               kathal kofta is a completely  vegetarian dish . Which is  completely  in  Indian  cuisine . This  dish  is  no onion  and  no garlic  recipe . 

Serve  it  with  paratha , rice . chappati . You  can  serve  as  to  during  lunch  and  dinner . 

It  goes  well  with rice , chapati , parathas .

Raw  jack fruit  is  high  sources  of  carbohydrates , protein , minerals , vitamin C , vitamin A . Jack fruit  is  easily digestible in our  body . Jack fruit  has  an Antioxidants .  Jack fruit  is  good sources of Magnesium  and  potassium .  Jack fruit  is  rich  in vitamins  and minerals . 

It is easy to make . jack fruit  is  best  sources of  micro nutrients .   Kathal kofta  is  made  from  raw jack fruit , tomatoes ,  others spices  . It  is a  side dish  for  steamed rice ,  chapaties  and parathas .

 Once you start  eating  this kofta  it  will  melt  in  your mouth .    You  feel  that every  bite is awesome taste  and  delicious taste . 

Kathal kofta  is unique  taste curry . Which  taste is  divine . You can serve  as  to Home party .

I have used in this  recipe  for  flavors , like garam masala powder  , Mace  powder  javitri  and  Nutmeg powder   jaiphal   . Even , it is  a  flavorful and tangy  taste's  curry .

It is a 3 in 1  recipe or  3 steps  recipe .

Ingredients  :


( For Koftas )



1.Raw  Jack  Fruit or Raw  Kathal  - 300 gm

2.Garam  Masala  Powder - 1 tea spoon 

3.Coriander  Leaves ( finely  Chopped ) - 2  table spoon

4.Dry  Red  Chilli Powder - 1 table spoon 

5.Cumin ( Jeera ) Powder - 1 table spoon

6.Coriander ( Dhania )  powder - 1  table spoon 

7. Salt  to  taste

8.Sugar  -  1/2  tea spoon ( optional )

9. Bengal  Gram  Flour or besan - 2 table spoon

10.  Oil  as  required

        ( For  Gravy )

1.Finely  Chopped  Coriander  leaves  -  1  table spoon

2. Salt  to  taste

3. Turmeric  Powder - 1/4  tea spoon

4.Dry  Red  chilli  Powder - 1  tea spoon

5. Dry  Kashmiri  Dry  red  chilli  powder - 1 table spoon

6.Bay  Leaf ( Tej patta )  - 1 pieces

7. Whole  Cumin ( Jeera )  seeds - 1/2  tea spoon

8.Coriander  ( Dhania  )  powder - 1 table spoon
9. Cumin ( jeera ) Powder - 1 table spoon

10.Cashew Nuts Paste -  1   tea spoon

11.Gram Masala  powder - 1 tea spoon

12. Tomato  1 pieces - Finely  Chopped

13. Oil  As  required

14.Mace ( Javitri )  Powder - 1/2  tea spoon

15.Nutmeg ( Jaiphal )  Powder - 1/2   tea spoon

16. Green  Cardamoms - 2  pieces ( Slice )

17. Ginger ( Adrak ) paste - 1 table sppon


    Method :

  (  For  Kofta )

1.First  Step , wash and  peel  the  jack fruit ( kathal ) , then  cut  some  small  cubes  pieces . Now  boil  or  Pressure  cook  kathal ( jack fruit )  pieces with  salt . Cook  till 2 - 3  whistles .  Cool  cover  and  keep  aside . While it completely  cool  and take out the  pieces from pressure cooker .


2. Second  Step , Once  Jack fruit ( kathal )   is  cool  , all  the  water  gets  completely  drain  out  and  transfer   jack fruit ( kathal ) other  plate  and  mash  jack fruit ( kathal ) .


3.Third  Step , now  add  oil  in a  pan heat  for  oil 2 minutes. Now  add dry  red  chilli  powder  1 table spoon , cumin ( jeera ) powder 1 table spoon , coriander ( dhania ) powder 1 table spoon , add  salt  to taste , turmeric  powder 1/4 tea spoon , sugar 1/2 tea spoon , add  gram  masala powder  1 tea spoon and  add  coriander leaves ( finely chopped )  2 table spoon, and mix well .Saute for all spices 5 minutes on medium flame ,till oil seperates  now  add  mashed  jack fruit ( kathal ) . Jack Fruit ( kathal ) and   spices mix very well .Cooking  For all spices and  jack fruit ( kathal ) 10 minutes. Cook for  medium flame .Switch off the flame let it cooled  cover  and keep a side for 15 minutes.


4.Fourth Step , after 15 minutes , 1/2 cup of water and dissolve Bengal  gram flour ( besan )  in it to make a solution . Then take  table spoon of the Jack Fruit ( kathal ) mash and roll through your palms to make tight smooth  ball.

5.Fifth Step , heat oil in a pan for 10 -15 minutes .Take  kofta in your hand and deep it in the Bengal gram flour  solution  and fry golden brown color on all sides . Cover a keep a side .






                   For  Gravy :

  Method :

1. First Step , now add oil in a pan heat for oil 5 minutes .Now add 1 pieces bay Leaf ( tej patta ) , 1/4 tea spoon whole cumin seeds , and 2 pieces  slice green cardamom and fry  for  all spices 1 minutes .


2.Second Step , now add 1 pieces  finely chopped tomato , 1 table spoon ginger ( adrak ) paste , 1 table spoon  kashmiri dry red chilli  powder , 1 tea spoon dry red chilli powder , cumin ( jeera ) powder 1 table spoon , coriander ( dhania )  powder 1  table spoon , cashew nuts paste  1 table spoon , salt to taste , sugar 1/4 tea spoon , turmeric powder 1/4 tea spoon , finely chopped coriander leaves 1 table spoon , nutmeg (jaiphal ) powder  1/2  tea spoon, Mace ( javitri ) powder 1/2 tea spoon , and mix well .Saute for all spices till oil seperates  now add 11/2 cup water , cover close the lid .Cooking for 3 - 5 minutes  and medium heats. 

     After 3 - 5 minutes , gravy is done . Switch off the flame . Now drop the koftas  into it and sprinkle gram masala powder 1 tea spoon .


5. Serve  with hot Rice , Paratha , chapati ,  Roti .
